Judson Reid
Judson Reid is a senior extension associate at Cornell University. In this position, he manages a series of research and education projects throughout New York State on the production of fresh market vegetables. This work has brought him into close contact with Amish, Mennonites, and other groups who have seen dramatic growth in New York over the last decade. He has working relations with the diverse spectrum of plain sects throughout the state, including on-farm participatory research. His interest lies within the intersection of church standards and their role in agriculture and community dynamics.
Reid has conducted educational sessions with farmers in North America, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia as well as with Old Colony Mennonites in Central America. Reid spent his youth on a northern New York dairy farm and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University in agriculture.
